First sessions are hard! They can definitely be awkward as we get to know each other. I try to keep things as casual as possible, but there’s a very predictable structure. During each intake session, we will review the Informed Consent you signed prior to beginning therapy and give you an opportunity to ask questions. From there, I will ask you give me some details about your presenting concerns and begin workshopping some goals with you.

The number one thing that is important to me is that you feel that we’re consistently working on topics that are relevant to you and the progress you want to make. If at any point you feel we’re not going in the right direction, please let me know!
